Developing smart industrial parks requires comprehensive solutions
The Industrial Park Development Forum 2025 was held in Hanoi on the morning of May 29. The forum’s content emphasized three main groups of factors that are playing a driving role in promoting the transition from the traditional industrial park model to the smart industrial park model in Vietnam, including: technology, pressure from foreign investors, requirements for sustainable development and competition in the global supply chain.
Statistics show that more than 60% of FDI enterprises in Vietnam tend to choose industrial parks that have integrated smart management systems and are capable of providing real-time operational data.
Mr. Pham Huy Cuong – Director of Sika Vietnam Company in the North said: “We always meet the requirements of investors and contractors on products and standards in construction, especially construction of green buildings, with requirements from the Government and the market”.
However, the current situation in industrial parks is that the technical and social infrastructure is not synchronous. The occupancy rate is not high. The quality of investment attraction is not uniform. Human resources do not meet the requirements of technology transformation. Some industrial parks do not fully comply with environmental protection regulations.
Therefore, it is necessary to have synchronous and comprehensive solutions to develop smart industrial parks. In particular, it is necessary to focus on restructuring planning, upgrading technological infrastructure, developing high-quality human resources and promoting smart, green and circular industrial park models. This will be a solid foundation for Vietnam to not only attract quality FDI capital but also affirm its position in the race for industry 4.0.
